About Me
“The only thing for sure is that you are here, that you are alive, and that this world is full of wonder” Spinoza

During our lifetime one in four of us will experience negative thoughts and feelings that can leave us feeling overwhelmed and floundering.
It can feel like an insurmountable struggle to deal with current situations or unresolved issues from our past.
I know that seeking out a counsellor is a brave decision to make. For you, it can be hugely beneficial to be able to talk to someone who genuinely wants to listen and understand what you are experiencing, in complete confidence and without judgement. This allows you the freedom to be open and honest during your sessions. I can help you to understand and manage the challenges that life can throw at us, discovering the inner resources that are within you.

My training as an Integrative Counsellor means that I offer you a combination of approaches that can be tailored to suit your specific needs.

This includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which helps us to address negative thinking styles and/or patterns of behaviour and enables us to develop coping strategies and resilience to help as we move forward with our lives.
Exploring our past in psychotherapy can help us to gain understanding and insight on historical issues that are often at the root of our problems, encouraging new perspectives and gently challenging belief patterns that can cause us to get stuck in life. In counselling, we explore different ways of communicating our needs and our feelings.

At the core of my practice is the belief that you are the expert of your own life and for me hearing and understanding your story is the most important aspect of our relationship. With the focus on our therapeutic relationship, I will explore difficult and often emotionally challenging issues alongside you reflecting on your experiences, examining your feelings and helping you to facilitate the positive changes that you desire in your life.
I have always been a firm believer in the restorative and healing benefits of being in nature and bringing this into my counselling practice felt like a natural path to take. I offer Walking/Talking Therapy as well as Nature Therapy workshops for small groups or individuals, both inside and out in nature.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and am insured with Holistic Insurance.
